Our sessions

Described below, are our post-Covid sessions.

Monday Clubruns

These are sociable, steady runs of between 3 and 8 miles.

A great chance to get to know your fellow club mates.

Numbers vary, but we often get 60+ people turning up.  We use a booking App to split into smaller groups to make things manageable.  Suitable for all abilities with back markers to ensure nobody ever gets left behind!

We aim for groups running at these paces

Short: Three groups a) 9-9.30 mins/mile, b) 9.30-10 mins/mile, c) 10+ mins/mile
Medium Steady: 8.30-9 mins/mile
Medium Fast: 8-8.30 mins/mile
Long: 7.30-8 mins/mile

There is also a group that runs 5k ie 3 miles at 10+ mins/mile

Tuesday Tempo

Speedwork at a lactate threshold pace. No talking in this one. Suitable for intermediate and faster runners. There is also a monthly introductory session to encourage and support people wanting to try tempo for the first time

Wednesday Sessions

These vary week by week. Hill Sessions, Fartlek runs, Circuit Training, Mile Reps.  Suitable for all including new joiners because the chosen course is always small.  Run4it is a typical session: Meet at Pump Room Gardens near the library, run around the gardens at a modest pace to ensure everybody knows the route, run for 4 mins as fast as you can, recover for 3 mins as you make your way back to the start.  Everybody in sight of everybody else, only the public to weave around!

Track Sessions

These are speed workouts. They take a variety of forms, and vary week by week. Suitable for all and based at Edmonscote Track.

Friday Six at Six

Six steady miles at six pm with two groups.  Faster group ~9 min miles, slower group ~ 10 min miles.  A good way to finish the week.  No one is left behind. Suitable for all.
